Myo-Facial Release
This style of body work is an adjunct to a massage session and can e included in a regular session or isolated and applied as a single therapy.
The fascia is connective tissue that covers muscles, organs and skeletal components. .So let us understand what fascia is. It surrounds all of the muscles, internal structures and organs . It separates and supports structures of tissue giving them format and stability. You could look at it as an inner body stocking. Or for those who have cleaned chicken it is that transparent, whitish, strong tissue that surrounds everything. When it is healthy it can be stretches and shortened and will return to its original state. However when it becomes tense or over stretched it can become fixed and looses its ability to be playable. Which in turn, causes decreased range of motion , discomfort and eventually distortion in structure. skeletal alignment. Thus, effecting posture and the position of the internal organs.
Since they cover the muscles, pressing on them presses down and out simultaneously. Imagine a sheet drawn tightly over a bed. That sheet (fascia) covers the mattress (muscle) and at the four corners where the tension will be the greatest. The therapist using knuckles or elbows, applies moderate pressure to the fascia, through the skin. Moving slowly, using a technique called direct myofascial release, the practitioner works through the layers, finally reaching the deep tissue. One popular variation is the so-called ‘Rolfing’ technique, developed by Dr. Ida Rolf in the 1950s. Employing indirect fascia release can alleviate distortions in the fascia that restrict the muscles which can be a souse of chronic pain and decreased rang of motion. Using Moist heat help increases the flexibility of the fascia in a larger surface area and the result is more heat created within the tissue, which helps stimulate blood flow. That circulation brings fresh blood to the tissues and carries away toxins.Whenever muscles are manipulated in massage, the fascia are always involved, since they cover the entire area. Keeping sustained pressure over time is key to utilizing the technique safely and effectively. Both direct and indirect fascia release grow out of the world of physical therapy.
Myo Facial release is a different kind of body work than regular Swedish Massage. It focuses on breaking up the constrictions of the fascia, described above. During a session the therapist will be shift, lift and roll the fascia that under the skin and surrounding muscle tissue. This opens and releases those constrictions, freeing the fascia, the underlying muscles and tissue. Which transfers deep with in the body, realigning skeleton Allowing proper posture to reposition internal organs as well. When the facial is free the body is free to move and function normally.
Cranio-Sacral Therapy
Cranio-Sacral therapy involves the manipulation of the skull bones (the cranium) and the sacrum(a bone between the lumbar and tail bone in the lower back)
to relieve pain, headaches, co-ordination issues, mental & emotional conditions and a wide verity of other ailments. Used widely in closed head injuries, car accidents, autism, depression. Like other holistic therapies, this one emphasizes subjective concepts such as energy, harmony, balance, rhythm and flow. Cranio-sacral therapy detects the cranio-sacral "rhythm" in the cranium, sacrum, cerebra-spinal fluid and the membranes which envelop the central
nervous system. The balance and flow of this rhythm is considered essential to good health. This fluid is a connection between brain and body, the body and brain . This rhythm is measured by the sensitivity and experience of a qualified Cranio-Sacral Therapist . Any
imbalances in this flow of cerebral-spinal fluid ( thready, uneven, too weak or too strong etc.) will cause mis-communication between the brain to the body and back to the brain. If the rhythm and this flow is in any need of any correction, the therapist will be able to make the necessary adjustments in position of the cranial and sacral bones, effecting the rhythm and flow . This technique can be included in a regular session as a adjunct to massage therapy
Neuron-Muscular Technique,
Trigger Point Therapy, Soft-Tissue Manipulation Neuromuscular massage is an intense form of bodywork that consists of focused, concentrated massage on specific area soft the body. The pressure may continue for a period of up to thirty seconds at a time, and is designed to alleviate tension that extends from a “trigger point” into an entire muscle. The theory behind neuromuscular massage is that when a muscle spasms, due to one of any number of stimuli/ it is not caused by a spasm in the entire muscle, but by a spasm in a very centralized area of the muscle, which may then reverberate to other areas of the muscle, causing pain.
This small area is called a trigger point because it is the area that “triggers” pain in another area of the muscle, sometimes called referring or transferring.
When a muscle (or trigger point) spasms in the body, blood flow to that area is severely decreased, sometimes ceasing altogether. When the blood flow is diminished, oxygen necessary for the muscle to work properly is also decreased, causing a buildup of lactic acid. This causes a sensation similar to the one felt after working out. This style massage is often included in deep tissue and sports massage sessions.

Hot Stone Massage This specialty massage uses smooth, heated stones in conduction with several different massage techniques. They are often basalt, a black volcanic rock that absorbs and retains heat well. It is a deeply soothing, relaxing form of massage. The heat helps tight muscles release while increasing the flow of blood that brings healing and nutrition to tissues. Before you arrive, the stones are sanitized and heated to 120 and 150 degree water. The therapist uses traditional strokes of Swedish massage while holding a heated stone. As the stone cools, the therapist replaces it with another. The therapist might also leave heated stones on pressure points, in specific points along your spine, or in the palms of your hand, or even between your fingers and toes to improve the flow of energy in your body by opening chi centers, acupressure points, chakras and nerves
Aromatherapy Massage

Included with a relaxing Swedish Massage (see above) is the added olfactory dimension of Aromatherapy; the art and science of essential oils. These oils are derived from the highest quality flowers and herbs that have healing properties. A custom blend is created for each client. This blend is then added to massage oil and applied to the body and diffused in the air. The molecules of the essential oils are small enough to penetrate gently through the skin and lungs and enter your body with ease. Aromatherapy helps conditions of fatigue, stress, headache, muscle aches, bronchitis and sinusitis. This aromatic experience can also help uplift, calm and relax.
