What is T.E.N.S Therapy:
TENS stands for transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation, which sounds complicated, more than it actually is. With TENS, electrodes are are gently placed on the skin around the painful area. When the TENS unit is turned on, it delivers a light current through the electrodes to the skin and tissues just beneath it. Using TENS feels a bit like  light tingling sensation, though the intensity can be set high enough to make a muscle active
How TENS Works:TENS closes the pain gate
TENS is thought to disrupt the  pain cycle by delivering a different, non-painful sensation to the skin around the pain site. In essence, it modulates the way we process the pain sensations from that area.
Depending on the  electrical frequency / intensity the TENS unit delivers it will  also trigger the body to release endorphins.
Endorphins act as natural painkillers, and help promote a feeling of well-being
TENS for Chronic Pain:
Does TENS relieve chronic pain
?  A number of researchers have determined that TENS can help control chronic pain. and TENS has  no side effects.
It won't interact with your other medications, and it won't make you drowsy. Once your TENS unit is programmed, it is easy to apply, and can be worn during most activities.

TENS works for:
  • Pain Management
  • Scoliosis Pain
  • Back Pain
  • Neck Pain
  • Sore Muscles and Joint

TENS use dates back to the 1960s with the introduction of the
gate control theory of pain. According to the theory, stimulating nerves closes a "gate" mechanism in the spinal cord, and that can help eliminate the sensation of pain. During a TENS treatment for back pain,/ neck pain , electrodes are placed on the skin over an area of pain. This creates electrical impulses that travel along nerve fibers and create a gentle tingling sensation.
People feel less pain when the electrical impulses are delivered. This could be because stimulating the nerves blocks other pain signals. Another theory is that stimulating the nerves may help the body produce natural painkillers called endorphins.
What are Endorphins:
Endorphins ("endogenous morphine") are natural pain  inhibitors that the body makes.  They are produced by the central nervous system and pituitary gland and when a person does intense physical  activity ( running, weights training, resistance training, yoga, even power walking, etc.) endorphins are released in to the body. So TENS Therapy is great for any one that can not work out due to physical pain so they can eventually have full rang of motion and return to normal activity .
